PIXEL PERFECT - A VIRTUAL PHOTOGRAPHY MAGAZINE - ISSUE01
Pixel Perfect is a one-man magazine focused on the beautiful art of Virtual Photography, written, framed and captured by yours truly.
In this first issue we will tackle the seminal The Last Of Us Part I in a very specific way: highlighting the importance of the 3 auxiliary spotlights that the in-game Photo Mode provides to the virtual photographer. A welcome accessory that can be cumbersome to manage, often irritating, but that when perfectly tamed adds an extra layer of depth and charisma to portraits while adding an aura of mystery, decadence and appeal to Naughty Dog's interior design. Of course, the use of black & white photography can only but enhance the wonderful dichotomy between light and darkness, making it my weapon of choice since the get go.
From a creative standpoint, the use of vignetting, black & white photography, and the correct positioning of the 3 auxiliary spotlights, allowed me to darken the background walls and objects, resulting in perfectly readable subjects on an (almost) pitch black background, without any kind of offline post-processing.
