Bringing my Virtual Photography Among the People

At the end of the current year 2021, I had for the second time in two years the chance to exhibit my Virtual Photography among families and common people.

It happened at the Rome Video Game Lab from the 4th to the 7th of November and it has been a blast.

This year I brought to Cinecittà, Rome, my whole Ghost of Tsushima “historical photography” project for a total of 30 captures, 27 of which printed on forex and 3 on giant-size fabric, thanks, as always, to the lovely care of my friends at Neoludica which also printed a fantastic catalogue for this special occasion.

A huge amount of bystanders thought this was an actual gallery of IRL historical photography

During these 4 days of exhibition I had the pleasure to speak with many people, families, youngsters and gamers alike, explaining to them what is a Photo Mode, what is Virtual Photography and how VP is an evergrowing sensation on Social Media. Not only that, I also explained how I went from a screen-capture to a whole conceptual work of transcending a videogame and its mechanics and bend it to my personal vision (I wrote about the whole evolutive process here and here).

This is a full-frontal view of the entire gallery

Saturday the 6th I also had the chance to host a full 1-hour-speech about my Ghost of Tsushima project and the state of italian Virtual Photography with an introduction by Luca Traini of Neoludica.

In the end this was a very exciting experience, I loved sharing stories and experiences with cosplayers, gamers and the whole press-agency of the RVGL. I really can’t wait to be back with some fresh captures and new experiences to tell in 2022.
